On the shores of Skutulsfjörður, on the northwestern point of Iceland, lies the ancient town of Ísafjörður, an MSC Northern Europe Cruises destination. Nearby, the spear-shaped island of Vigur is a pristine paradise, home to puffins, gulls, and a delightful sea lion colony.
MSC Cruises excursions offer plenty of exciting things to see including:
• Dynjandi Waterfall
• Thingeyri: Old Traditions and Viking Culture
• Vigur Island
Cascading down the hillside of Arnarfjörður is the magnificent Dynjandi Waterfall.
ICELAND INFRASTRUCTURAL FEE
We inform you that Icelandic authorities apply an infrastructure fee to all cruise guests visiting Icelandic ports.
For 2026 and 2027 the fee is ISK 1,600 (approx. €11) per person per 24-hour period in Icelandic ports, reduced from ISK 2,500 in 2025. To simplify the process, MSC Cruises will pay this fee on behalf of the guests and debit the amount to their onboard account after departure from Iceland.
Please note: This fee applies to all guests, regardless of disembarkation or remaining onboard while the ship is docked.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
At this port, the ship may anchor offshore, requiring Guests to use a tender boat (a smaller vessel) to reach the shore. Please be aware that the tender may not be suitable for individuals with disabilities, reduced mobility, or balance issues. Ensuring the safety of our guests is our top priority, so it is crucial that guests can safely use the tender. For further details, please refer to our Terms & Conditions (Section 7).
