One of the symbols of the city, among the most recognizable in Iceland, is undoubtedly the\u00a0blue church of Seydisfjordur<\/strong>. With its particular color and style, it has become a tourist destination that is not to be missed. The church originally stood on the\u00a0Dvergasteinn<\/strong>\u00a0farm and in 1882 was transferred to\u00a0Vestdalseyri<\/strong>, but in 1894, it was destroyed and damaged by a huge storm. The church was then rebuilt, this time inside the peninsula, remaining there until 1920 when it was transferred to the heart of<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>

Seydisfjordur. In 1989, the blue church was once again damaged by a fire during the renovation of the building and the pipe organ was destroyed by the flames.<\/p>\n

Near the village of Seydisfjordur, you can also admire the\u00a0Gufufoss<\/strong>waterfalls<\/strong>, one of the largest and most striking in the area, whose name means \u201csteam falls\u201d. The road that crosses the plateau to reach this enchanted place is filled with beautiful views that should not be missed.<\/div>\n

To end your tour, head off to see\u00a0Tvisongur<\/strong>, a \u201csound\u201d sculpture composed of five domes built in 2012 by German artist\u00a0Lukas K\u00fchne<\/strong>. Inside the sculpture, located on a mountain above the city, you can hear sounds, whispers, and singing amplified creating a truly unique, evocative atmosphere.<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

ICELAND INFRASTRUCTURAL FEE<\/strong><\/p>\n

We inform you that Icelandic authorities apply an infrastructure fee to all cruise guests visiting Icelandic ports.<\/p>\n

For 2026 and 2027 the fee is ISK 1,600 (approx. \u20ac11) per person per 24-hour period in Icelandic ports, reduced from ISK 2,500 in 2025. To simplify the process, MSC Cruises will pay this fee on behalf of the guests and debit the amount to their onboard account after departure from Iceland.<\/p>\n

Please note: This fee applies to all guests, regardless of disembarkation or remaining onboard while the ship is docked.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
