On a peninsula north of Cabo Frio, Arma\u00e7\u00e3o dos B\u00fazios, or just\u00a0B\u00fazios<\/strong>, is an immensely scenic resort full of high-spending beautiful people, and a very popular port of call on\u00a0holidays to Brazil<\/a>\u00a0with MSC Cruises.<\/span>
\nArma\u00e7\u00e3o<\/strong>, the main settlement, is built in a vaguely\u00a0colonial style<\/strong>, its streets lined with restaurants, bars and chic boutiques, and has been nicknamed \u201cBrazil\u2019s St Tropez<\/strong>\u201d. It comes then as little surprise to find that it was \u201cdiscovered\u201d by none other than\u00a0Brigitte Bardot<\/strong>, who stumbled upon it while touring the area in 1964.<\/span>
\nB\u00fazios consists of three main settlements, Manguinos, Arma\u00e7\u00e3o and Ossos, each with its own distinct character.\u00a0Manguinos<\/strong>, on the isthmus, is the main service centre, with a tourist office, a medical centre and banks. Midway along the peninsula, linked to Manguinos by a road lined with brash hotels, is\u00a0Arma\u00e7\u00e3o<\/strong>, an attractive village where cars are banned from some of the cobbled roads.<\/span>
\nMost of B\u00fazio\u2019s best restaurants and boutiques are concentrated here, along with some of the resort\u2019s nicest pousadas, or inns, and there\u2019s also a helpful tourist office on<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>

When you step ashore from your MSC cruise, a fifteen-minute walk along the\u00a0Orla Bardot<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 which follows the coast from Arma\u00e7\u00e3o, passing the lovely seventeenth-century\u00a0Igreja de Nossa<\/strong>Senhora de Sant\u2019Ana<\/strong>\u00a0on the way \u2013, brings you to\u00a0Ossos<\/strong>, the oldest settlement, comprising a pretty harbour, a quiet beach and a few bars, restaurants and pousadas.<\/span>
\nWithin walking distance of all B\u00fazios\u2019 settlements are beautiful white-sand beaches \u2013 27 in total \u2013 cradled between rocky cliffs and promontories, and lapped by crystal-clear waters. The beaches are varied, with the north-facing ones having the calmest and warmest seas, while those facing the south and east have the most surf.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
